How is money raised from Bowl for Kids spent?
All the money raised here…stays here.
With your support , the agency was able to provide a service to 169 children & Youth from right here in Colchester County.
Additionally, it enables us to offer bursaries to graduating students for post secondary education. Up to $4,000 is available to “Littles” who make the choice to go to college or University. Since 2000, fourteen of our own have followed their dreams, with your help.
The agency also offers financial assistance to “Littles” for various services or activities that they would otherwise not be able to afford. From piano lessons to dental braces, many children have benefited from this program and your generosity and hard work.
The priority of the local agency is child safety. Many programs are offered to ensure this. Two summer programs called “Right for Me” and “Life Choices” ensure youth are well equipped for the many challenges and choices they’ll need to make. As a result of these educational programs, “Littles” are turning to their “Bigs” instead of drugs, alcohol, and crime.
So, your support of this campaign helps create strong kids.
A “Little” bragging rights:
Here at Big Brothers – Big Sisters of Colchester we are very proud of the efforts our very own volunteers and “Littles” have put forth in support of Bowl for Kids Sake. Both the volunteers and the children involved with the agency have gone above and beyond to show their appreciation and loyalty. In 2011 they raised over $7,500. What a tremendous effort by those directly involved. So, not only are the kids the clients…they are also the supporters. And, not only, are the volunteers giving of their time, they are also giving their financial support. We think you’re the best. Thanks!!!
Do your own fundraising:
This year…be creative. Many companies such as MacQuarries and AML Communications hold their own raffles and bake sales “in house” to supplement what the staff raises individually. Also, check with your company
as sometimes the “head office” has a matching gift program.
