WHO CAN BE A BIG BROTHER? You can. Being a Big Brother is about being a friend and someone to look up to. It’s about hanging out, talking and sharing, with many smiles along the way. It’s about making one child feel very special. And you’ll feel pretty great too. After the enrolment process, we’ll provide training and match you with a Little Brother who shares your interests. As a Big Brother, you get to build model airplanes, toss around the football, play computer games, hang out… whatever! It’s about sharing a little time together – a few hours a week or every couple of weeks will make a big difference. You’ll see. A BIG BROTHER IS... A great listener

LITTLE BROTHERS ARE... Great kids anxiously waiting to have fun with someone like you. Their ages usually range from 6 to 16, and all are excited to be a part of this program. If you’ve ever wanted to be a kid again, your Little Brother will be happy to help you out. That’s the magic of the program – you learn from each other.
WHAT SHARING A LITTLE MAGIC CAN DO Children who spend time with a mentor gain confidence, acquire new skills and competencies, and develop an enhanced capacity to care for others. Mentors experience a sense of discovery and enjoyment as they see the world of possibility open up through a child’s eye. ACTIVITIES
As with all Big Brothers - Big Sisters volunteer programs you are encouraged to simply INCLUDE your "Little" in your everyday life. Grocery shopping? Walking the dog? Going to Victoria Park? Movie at home night? Games...sports...window shopping.....rock hounding....exploring new places....most anything goes! It's not about WHAT you do...it's about sharing a little of your life with a great child. The smile on your Littles face will be rewarding...and the progress you'll see will make everyone happy!
